Niagara Falls...Slowly I turned!

Our stay at the Lockport Inn was very nice, in fact, with their hot tub and fireplace it was very relaxing!  However, we were off for an early breakfast, followed by a visit to MACs to buy a few items we thought we may need for the trip.  Although, we first had to put on some rain-X as it was raining lightly.  From MACs it was on to the world famous Niagara Falls.  The GPS took right to Rainbow Bridge where we made it thorough customs with no trouble.

As I mentioned the weather had started off with showers, but now that we were at the Falls the skies were getting brighter.  We parked the Model A's and walked to the waters edge.  Mike & Grace were impressed with the amount of water tumbling over the falls.  We fit right in with the rest of the tourists, enjoying the different views of the falls as we walked along taking lots of pictures.

The other big news is that Nik Wallenda will be walking a tightrope across the falls on Friday.  We watched as the crew was getting the site ready to pull the cable across later in the day.  Nan struck up a conversation with the City's Health & Safety Director and he gave us more details on the event.

We always enjoy our visits to the Falls, but this one was more special as Mike & Grace had not been to the Falls before.  We were glad this fit into the schedule of our tour.

Back on the road, we plotted a route that would take us across Ontario to the US border.  However, because we enjoyed our stay at the Falls and got started late, we realized we weren't going to be able to make it across Ontario.  Not only that, the cross winds were wicked and slowed us down.  It was really difficult to keep the Model A's from being blown all over the road.  Fortunately the roads were very Model A friendly, with little traffic, which helped.  We arrived in London, ON and decided this was where we were going to call it quits for the day.  At that point, the Hampton Inn and a cold beer was more inviting than fighting the wind.  Crossing back into the US will have to wait until tomorrow.
